By the end of the war women had shown what they are capable of to the matriarchal society. The involvement women had in society during the war led to the women's suffrage. This was a movement aimed at women's right to vote.  


In 1917 the Military's Voters Act was passes stating that women who are British subjects and have close relatives in the armed forces can vote on behalf of their male relatives, in federal elections.
